Furby Joins the Kotobukiya BISHOUJO Series
The Hasbro Furby Bishoujo Statue is one of the most unexpected additions to Kotobukiya’s BISHOUJO lineup. Hasbro’s Furby, the chatty, wide-eyed interactive toy that became a late-’90s craze, has been reimagined as a stylish anime-inspired figure with full Y2K attitude. It joins Hasbro’s other BISHOUJO lines, including My Little Pony, Transformers and G.I. Joe, and it’s a natural fit for any toy line Bishoujo collection.
A Y2K Look Built Around Furby’s Signature Details
Kotobukiya turned Furby’s most recognizable features into fashion. Her oversized jacket recreates Furby’s fluffy fur texture, while the belt and boots are finished to look like glossy enamel. Turn the figure around and you’ll find a patch-style Furby face on the back of the jacket, a detail that rewards anyone who displays her in a rotating case or on an open shelf.
The sunglasses are inspired by Furby’s infrared sensor, and they’re removable, so you can display her with or without them. The finished figure stands about 8.9 inches (225 mm) tall and is made from PVC, ABS, iron, acrylic and metal rods. Unlike many BISHOUJO releases, Kotobukiya lists this one as a non-scale figure.
Includes a Mini Furby with Movable Eyelids
A mini Furby figure, about 2.75 inches (70 mm) tall, is included. Its left and right eyelids open and close, so you can pose it awake or mid-blink beside the main figure, a playful nod to how the original toy came to life. The main figure is sculpted by MRScapsule, with the mini Furby sculpted by harume.
