G.I. Joe Scarlett Sky Blue Color Collectible Bishoujo Statue
Kotobukiya is introducing a limited edition sky blue color variant statue of Agent Scarlett to join the G.I. Joe Bishoujo line. The design of this special aerial assault version is based on an exclusive 2008 variant of Agent Scarlett.
Hasbro created G.I. Joe as the story of a group of American military heroes who fight against Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization intent on ruling the world. Agent Scarlett is one of the original members of the G.I. Joe team and was first introduced as a character in 1982. The character was prominently featured in the G.I. Joe action figure line, comic books, and animated series. She is also notable as the first female action figure to be released in the G.I Joe: A Real American Hero line. She was originally released simply under the name Scarlett, but Hasbro did not renew the trademark, so in 2002 she was renamed and re-released as Agent Scarlett.
In her original origin story, she is born in Atlanta, Georgia, and is sometimes portrayed as having a southern accent. Her real name is Shana M. O’Hara. Her father and three brothers are martial arts instructors, leading to Agent Scarlett starting her training at the early age of 9 and securing her first black belt at the age of 15. As an adult, she joins the U.S. Army and serves in Vietnam, where she undergoes special training in a variety of fields before eventually ending up in intelligence work.
Agent Scarlett’s specialty on the G.I. Joe team is counterintelligence, though she is also skilled in martial arts and acrobatics, and is an expert marksman. She is qualified in many different weapons and fighting styles, but her weapon of choice is the XK-1 power crossbow, which can fire different bolts with customized functions depending on the specific needs of the situation. Agent Scarlett carries the rank of Master Sergeant and has at times served as a team leader. She is physically portrayed as being very beautiful and having long red hair, often shown pulled back in a ponytail. Her catchphrase is “Beauty may be skin deep, but lethal is to the bone.”
From the 1980s to the modern-day, the character is still a G.I. Joe fan favorite and different versions continue to be featured in comic books, animated television series, and video games. She is also one of the main team members in past and upcoming live-action G.I. Joe movies.
This exclusive color variant Bishoujo statue of Agent Scarlett features a sky blue bodysuit with silver lining accents, along with white gloves and boots. Her classic red hair is styled in her trademark ponytail, which creates a deliberate and eye-catching contrast with the sky blue suit. She is also holding her preferred weapon, the XK-1 crossbow, in her right hand. Attention to detail and character origin is obvious in this digitally sculpted statue.
This high-quality Bishoujo collectible is made possible through the skill of expert sculptor Takaboku Busujima and designed by Shunya Yamashita.
